I created these two tracks back in 2020-2021 cause an old coworker of mine had asked me if I could create a theme song for a podcast he was going to start. and being the overly ambitious human I am, I made 2 tracks so he could pick and choose whichever one fit his show best. Unfortunately, the podcast never came to fruition, and I instead decided to release these two tracks now for your listening pleasure. I’m very proud of them and I hope you are too. Mwah! 💋

Me and my dad made a song. He wrote the lyrics and the general outline of what he wanted the song to sound like, and I helped adjust the song structure and fixed some of the lyrics up with the addition of a rhyme scheme, and finally put it to music/did vocals for it. Originally I had only made a Mariachi demo and released it exclusively on YouTube 2 years ago, not just so my father could easily access it to relisten at his leisure, but to test the waters of me doing music in my first language: Spanish. Luckily, I got a lot of love and support, and now it's finally got an official release, including the original Mariachi demo from 2 years ago, mastered and sounding better than ever, and a new acoustic version! Dedicated to Jesus "Peronicua" Govea, one of my dad's best friends from back when he lived in Michoacán, Mexico. RIP March 19th, 1961 - June 4th, 2021 New song alert! My new song titled “Dynamite” is now available everywhere! Issa LOVE SONG and it’s ONE of my favorite songs I've made. The beat, the lyrics... everything about it was just so fun to make. I created the beat a while back after watching Napoleon Dynamite for the billionth time, specifically after watching the scene of Kip and Lawfunda's date. I really fucked with that synth beat, and a lot of electronic synth beats on the Napoleon Dynamite OST, hence I tried to make something inspired by that but with my own twist. My new 3 track EP, “Anxiety Dream” is NOW AVAILABLE EVERYWHERE! It’s comprised of a spoken word song, a little acapella song, and to end it all with a little bow, an experimental rap song. This EP was written when I was on my way to and when I arrived to California in 2022. My anxiety kept resulting in me having these terrible nightmares and with me waking up in the middle of the night, dissociating and feeling like I wasn’t alive. I was in a constant state of questioning whether or not I was actually awake or still dreaming and I wrote these songs to help me cope. The EP was partially recorded in LA and partially recorded here in my hometown of Chicago. It was also a sound design test cause I wanted to see how album flow could work between tracks. A little ambient diddy before the WHY INSPIRE album drops in 10 days. This song is partially dedicated to my sister, my nephews, my godfather/brother-in-law and the apartment/house pictured in the cover photo, as I would often spend time with them there and feel safe and reassured. The word “Chicago” comes from the Miami-Illinois word “Shikaakwa”, which means “striped skunk” or “smelly onion", and that's what this project is about. It's a love letter to my hometown of Chicago, highlighting the positive aspects and good things that this city has to offer, as well as shedding light to the negative aspects, such as the danger and terror suffered here, all showcased in an ambient music form. Take a look at my sophomore album! She's the only one I got. I hope you enjoy this experimental little hip-hop/ambient album. I realize it’s a big departure from my debut which was more experimental with sound and played with a lot more genres, so moving forward with an album that is only ONE or TWO genres is very very weird for me. This album was conceived originally as a 5-track EP during a depressive episode I had in the summer of 2023. It touches on themes of depression, loneliness, addiction, eating disorders, child abuse and the trauma that comes along with it, death, financial strain, and ultimately coming to terms with all of those things, even if things haven't gotten better, per se. The house pictured in the cover art is my childhood home. I lived in that house for 14 years until we had to move out in 2017. Lots of memories in that old house and it just seemed like the perfect image to tie the album in a neat little bow. This album was heavily inspired by Earl Sweatshirt's "Solace" project and "Some Rap Songs" album. Written, recorded, produced, mixed and mastered by me from the span of June 2023 to August 2023. |
